Are you wondering if the Mantra Mooloolaba Beach is worth staying at? If you’re looking for Mooloolaba accommodation reviews, you’ll find our honest Mantra Mooloolaba review here!
Let’s face it, there are so many options when it comes to Mooloolaba accommodation, it can be a bit of a minefield trying to organise a great place to stay on your holidays. Picking the right accommodation can actually make or break a holiday too, trust me it’s happened to us before! So we’re here to show you what it’s really like to stay at the Mantra in Mooloolaba.
Location, Location, Location
Mantra Mooloolaba sits in a fantastic location, right on Mooloolaba Esplanade which looks out onto the ocean. The location really doesn’t get much better as you have plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from right next door to the hotel.
You’ll also notice from the above photo that the Mantra is one of the only hotels on the Esplanade to have a big garden out the front which gives you a sense of space to relax in.
What’s it like staying at the Mantra in Mooloolaba?
Although the location is great, what’s it actually like staying at the Mantra? We stayed in a 1 bedroom superior apartment and we made sure we documented everything so you’re aware of what’s included.
We wondered if we would need to bring any kitchen utensils because sometimes when you book an apartment, you just don’t really know what’s actually included. Luckily, we took photos of everything so you’ll know what to expect. After a 13 hour drive up to Mooloolaba from Newcastle, we were ready for sleep. When we entered the room on the seventh floor, we walked straight into the bedroom area which had a lovely beach white theme and a TV too.
The bed was big and verging on a super king (if they exist) and super comfy too. In the wardrobe we found an ironing board, iron, drying racks, hangers and beach towels. That’s right, the apartment even comes with a washing machine!
We then went into the bathroom to find a round jacuzzi, snug enough to just about fit two people in. The shower is powerful and we loved the size of the bathroom which is big enough to have a good amount of space to store all of your toiletries and do some clothes washing.
Just make sure you bring washing powder with you if you need to do any washing. You’ll also find a hairdryer in the bathroom so you don’t need to bring one with you.
When we walked into the open plan living room area, we were really pleased with the kitchen which included an island with two chairs as a dining area. Some of the utensils we thought we’d mention in this apartment included the following: chopping board, knife, bottle opener, wine glasses, cheese grater, saucepan, frying pan, ice tray, and more in the photos below.
The kitchen also has a fridge and a very small freezer section (big enough to put some ice-creams in), a microwave, two small hobs, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, crockery and plenty of cupboard space. Coles is also just over the road from Mantra so it’s easy to cook in this kitchen.
We actually became really comfortable with this kitchen and cooked breakfast and dinner during the majority of our stay.
The other part of the open plan is the lounge area. It’s a cosy space with a sofa, coffee table, TV with Foxtel and an iPhone speaker to play some tunes. Mantra Mooloolaba is set up to make sure you have everything you need to literally become a home away from home.
Because we arrived in the dark, we were quite excited to see what the view would be like the next day. When we woke up after a good night’s sleep, we were greeted by the jaw-dropping views of the ocean.
Honestly we could have just sat indoors all day with views like this! It really gave us that holiday feeling, something that we definitely hope for when taking a few days out of work.
Mantra Mooloolaba facilities
The onsite facilities include a fantastic outdoor pool with jacuzzi area, an indoor pool, a games room and gym complete with a sauna so if it’s raining you’ll be able to keep entertained.
You can also see the Glasshouse Mountains from the hotel as well which was really exciting as it was our first time seeing them ever.
What we really loved about staying at Mantra Mooloolaba is the fact that it’s a great hotel to base yourself whilst you explore the Sunshine Coast. We found Mooloolaba much more chilled out than it’s neighbour of Noosa and much more affordable as well.

We don’t usually stay in hotels because we prefer the local vibe of staying in an airbnb but we must admit, the great thing about the Mantra is you can stay in an apartment and there’s easy secure parking with cracking views.
Also, it’s a nice thing to be able to call up reception if you need anything. Staying at Mantra is easily a must stay when looking for Mooloolaba accommodation. It’s also in a great location and within easy reach to all of the activities around the Sunshine Coast.

Our trip was gifted by Visit Sunshine Coast but the rates to stay here vary throughout the week starting from around $220 for a 1 bed superior room in the low season. This is a great rate considering how much you could potentially save by cooking in the apartment.
