I’m no hair expert

Just so you know, I’m no hair expert in the slightest, I’m just a normal person explaining to you what has worked for me for the first time in my life. And I’ve tried so many products and spent so much money in the past, it’s mental.

As you can see, moving to Australia from England again did me wonders as well as for my happiness.

Since I was in my early 20’s, I chopped my hair off and have pretty much had a short pixie cut ever since. But since I have been going to a hair salon called Stevie English Hair based in Glebe in Sydney, they have completely transformed my locks.

If you’re wondering how to grow hair faster, I’m now at the point where mine is now growing really fast in the best healthy way possible. stevie-english-hair-transformationSo what did the team at Stevie English Hair do to transform my hair from being completely brittle and corse, to being shiny and healthy in less than a couple of months? And when I say shiny and healthy hair, I mean to the point where I can consider growing it properly for the first time in my life.

It’s all about the hair bond at Stevie English Hair

Firstly the team at Stevie English Hair put a bond in my hair when they bleach it which costs an extra $50, but oh so worth it.

This protects my hair and the most interesting part is when I leave the salon, my hair feels even better after they’ve bleached it than before I went in. Amazing right?

Usually after a bleach I have to wait at least a week for my hair to calm down (what I mean is, stop being so frizzy) as my hair gets used to being bleached again. But at Stevie English Hair, the bond instantly transforms it.

After a good cut from stylist Shaun, and a beautiful colour by owner Stevie, I walk out the door knowing that my hair is in great condition. About six weeks later my hair would usually look like a dull blonde, feel flat, lifeless and corse. Since I’ve been going to Stevie English Hair, my hair has that soft feeling I’d get after a visit to the salon but continues on weeks later.

On top of the bond, there’s two products I’ve been using that you can buy at Stevie English Hair. Here’s how I have made my hair healthy.

1. BOND Ultim8 by MATRIX

So the BOND Ultim8 by MATRIX is a sealing treatment.  This works IF you’ve been to Stevie English Hair and they’ve put the bond in your hair. The back of the product explains that it helps fibres and provides nourishment at-home.

You put a small amount of the product onto wet hair BEFORE you shampoo. I tend to have a shower, put it on and leave it for as long as possible before washing it out. Then you just wash your hair as normal.

It says on the product to leave it in for at least 10 minutes. I know most people don’t have time to have like two showers in the morning so another way to use it is to put it on before you go to the gym, then wash it off afterwards.

It also suggests using it once a week. I have been using it probably twice a week. This product seriously makes my hair feel great and if I haven’t used it in a few weeks, I really notice the difference.

The bond costs $50 from Stevie English Hair

Bond Ultim8 costs $30 from Stevie English Hair

2. K18 Treatment (previously known as Khairpep)

OK so K18 is the goods. The guys at Stevie English Hair were telling me they have NEVER seen a hair treatment as good as K18 and I have to say they are 100% right. K18 has literally transformed my hair like there’s no tomorrow.

So the back of the product says it’s for hair damaged by colouring, bleaching, relaxing and heat. It’s for all hair types and strengthens, detangles and moisturises.

How to use K18 treatment

You know we’ve all tried those leave in conditioners right and they never feel like they actually do anything? K18 isn’t anything like that.

I basically wash my hair (I usually alternate between Fudge Blonde shampoo and a cheap shampoo) and then towel dry it. I then put 4-5 pumps of Khairpep through my hair and leave it. It says to wait four minutes before drying it so the Khairpep can soak in. I then dry my hair with my hairdryer and that’s it.

K18 costs $35 for 3 x programme box 5ml tubes or $85 for the 50ml bottle from Stevie English.

No more products or GHDs needed

healthy-hair-in-australia-khairprep-matrixI don’t use any other products on my hair because it honestly doesn’t need it now. I used to use TIGI After Party serum to flatten it and I used to straighten it with my trusted GHDs. Khairpep is so good, I don’t even need to use hair straighteners on my hair now, that’s how crazy good this product is. I just use this hairdryer which is brilliant!

For even better results I use both BOND Ultim8 and Khairpep on my hair on the same day. If you’re looking to get healthy hair and need a decent hair treatment, honestly look no further.

You can buy both BOND Ultim8 ($30) and Khairpep ($85) at Stevie English Hair in Glebe.

And you can get 15% off your first booking at Stevie English Hair when you mention Londoner In Sydney when you book!

I’ve been meaning to write this for the last couple of months because I actually can’t believe how my hair has gone from unmanageable and corse to on it’s way to being normal.

Hopefully this post might be your saviour into having healthy hair too!
