I’m a big fan of the iconic British brand Marks & Spencer. My mother was probably their most loyal customer as I grew up eating their food and wearing their clothes through and through. When I was invited to their Australian website launch party in Sydney recently by Shopping Links, it was a privilege beyond words.
After taking a good peak at their new Aussie site, I noticed British icon favourite Alexa Chung was bringing back the M&S Archives with her updated modern spin on her favourite pieces in the Archives By Alexa Collection. Known for being able to mix up vintage and modern pieces exceptionally well, Alexa was a great fit for M&S. It was love at first sight and I as soon as it launched, I snapped up my three favourite pieces. The best part was, for an extra $5 these pieces arrived within 4 days!!!
1. The Harry Blouse
It’s probably the most famous piece in the collection and the harry blouse is my favourite. I am a huge fan of Victorian blouses this season and this one is absolutely perfect! The detailing is so beautiful, I’ll be wearing this one all winter. I’ve paired it with a pair of cropped high waisted flares, perspex heels and a leather jacket. I picked a size smaller than I am and it fits perfectly.
2. The Eliza Dress
Alexa Chung took this 1950’s dress and modernised it with long sleeves and black detailing. I absolutely love this print and snapped it up straight away. It’s very versatile. Below I’m wearing it with a classic black pump but I’ll also be wearing it with black boots or over the knee tan suede boots. It’s got a linen feel to it so it’s perfect for either Spring or Autumn.
3. The Lydia Trousers
I’m a big fan of these gingham cigarette trousers, a huge nod to the 50’s and I’ve styled them below with a silk scarf and button up polo top.
